About the Global Platform

The Global Platform for Access to Childhood Cancer Medicines (Global Platform), announced in 2021 by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (St. Jude) and World Health Organization (WHO), is a co-created investment in health systems for cancer control. The initiative is backed by a US$200 million commitment by St. Jude and implemented in partnership with WHO as secretariat, with UNICEF and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) Strategic Fund as procurement agents. The Global Platform aims to provide low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) with an uninterrupted supply of quality-assured childhood cancer medicines.

As reported by the Global Platform in June 2026, life-saving medicines had been delivered seven countries (Ecuador, Jordan, Moldova, Mongolia, Nepal, Uzbekistan, Zambia), reaching over 4,000 children with cancer; another five participating countries (El Salvador, Ghana, Pakistan, Senegal, Sri Lanka) are expected to receive medicines by the end of 2026.
